Easy question: I am being asked by a developer for my FTP URL, login and password so they can help with an issue. I see the FTP page in cPanel where I have accounts listed but I do not see what the actual URL is -. How do I answer their question?
Thanks for your question in regards to the URL used for FTP access. In order for your developer to use an FTP account that access your files, you will need to first create the account, then specify the path that the user can access. You won't be able to modify the path after you have created the FTP account. Typically, if you have setup the website into the default root path, then your developer will need to be able to get to the PUBLIC_HTML folder. For example, /home/username/public_html (you would just change the directory path to be "public_html").
The FTP URL will be same as the domain name for your website. You can see it by clicking on the Configure FTP Client when you have created the FTP account. For information, refer to the Getting Started Guide: FTP.
I hope that helps to answer your question! If you require further assistance please let us know!
