inmotionhosting.com has an invalid certificate (expired 2016) www.inmotionhosting.com is fine

DangMe 1 month ago in Technical Support / Security updated by John-Paul B (Content Marketing Coordinator) 1 month ago 1

If I type https://inmotionhosting.com into my (Firefox) web browser, I am blocked because it's an invalid certificate (issued by VMWare expired 2016).
If I type WWW.inmotionhosting.com, it's fine.

There are links on the inmotionhosting.com website (example the Support Center button in the top menu bar) that do not have the www. in front of the link, while other buttons do have that. If I click that link, I again get the "invalid certificate" and I'm blocked.

SSL certificate not active

IMRAN ZAFAR 2 months ago in Technical Support / Security updated by JT S. (Content Marketing Coordinator) 1 week ago 5

I have installed the SSL certificate but next day when I check it is still saying website not secured.

Answer

Hello and thanks for contacting us. Your SSL is active (you can test this using HTTPS://) but your website needs to be forced to redirect to using HTTPS via .htaccess or plugin. For now, I recommend you use our .htaccess article.

I have an expiring SSL certification from GoDaddy, but i just want to create a new SSL certification on InMotion.

dreeves 2 months ago in Technical Support / Security updated by John-Paul B (Content Marketing Coordinator) 2 months ago 1

I would prefer to just get a new SSL cert from InMotion and not renew thru GoDaddy.  What is the process for doing this?  Do i need to do anything special with the GoDaddy cert, or do i just treat this as installing a brand new cert that i buy from InMotion?  Also, do i need a wildcard cert if i am protecting "lefthandrobotics.com" and "www.lefthandrobotics.com"?

I had purchased a VPS Hosting pl,an a few months back for a client. I am getting ready to launch the site and need to get the SSL Cert installed. I was told when I purchased the hosting that an SSL was included. I am not sure though with InMotion how to access and attach it to the hosting. Can you point me to the step-by-step on this?

How do I delete a custom SSL certificate and start using AutoSSL

staylor 3 months ago in Technical Support / Security updated by John-Paul B (Content Marketing Coordinator) 3 months ago 1

I had purchased a Comodo SSL Cert for WineTastingGuide.com in the past, now I want to use AutoSSL. However, I can't seem to delete the Comodo SSL cert, which means I can't use AutoSSL. What do I need to do the get this corrected?
