My website is hacked

HLM 1 month ago in Technical Support / VPS Hosting updated by Courtney V (DemandGen) 1 month ago 1

I am using the same wordpress theme and plugins in other hostings but got never hacked. But I got hacked in your hosting which looks very filthy to me. I hope this issue not happen again.

Answer

Hi Midway! Are you on a VPS by any chance? If so, this is likely related to a cPanel error that was eventually patched out in future updates. If that's the case, the surest long term solution will be a cPanel update followed by a check to make sure that the CRON is back in place.

How to set up multiple websites on vps?

Lettie22 3 months ago in Technical Support / VPS Hosting updated by Alyssa K 3 months ago 1

New to inmotion hosting and have purchased a vps under the advice that we can run multiple websites from one server. The websites are for seperate clients so not connected in anyway. They will not need access to the server control panel. From reading the documentation it seems you do this by creating add-on domains which also create a sub domain on your primary domain. Does this mean that a site hosted on www.example.com can also be accessed via example.primary-domain.com? If this is the case then this is not good and if it is the case then how do you set up multiple separate domains that are not also linked to the primary domain?

Hello Lettie22,

Thank you for your question regarding VPS hosting. If you would like for the websites to be entirely separate from each other, I recommend creating individual cPanel accounts for each site. Please see the following guide for instructions on creating additional cPanel accounts:

How many snapshots can I store in a storage slot? Is there any way to automatically create snapshots in the storage slot and/or automatically move free snapshots into the storage slot?

Hello sarato25,

Thank you for your question regarding snapshots. Only one snapshot can be stored per storage slot. Regarding moving snapshots automatically, you will need to contact our Technical Support team to see if something like that can be done:

I received the following notification this week. Could I please have an explanation of what this message is concerning and how it affects our website and hosting?

The service “queueprocd” appears to be down.

Hi! I edited your message for your privacy, as it contained information that revealed your server details.

On even well managed VPSs, the occasional cPanel process will fail and need to be restarted. Usually, notifications like these don't indicate a significant problem unless they happen all of the time. In this case, it looks like the cPanel process that causes things to restart needed to restart itself after an error.

If you're just receiving an error message here and there, and everything is running smoothly, you're probably doing fine. Sometimes certain processes just need to restart after updates or other maintenance. If the same process is going offline multiple times a day, or a warning like this is followed by unusual server behavior, you'll need to work with your SysAdmin or contact our 24/7 Technical Support team to figure out the cause of the error.

As indicated in the bottom portion of the message, you or your SysAdmin can adjust how often you receive these notifications based on their importance. Think of it like a warning light: sometimes it's for something serious, sometimes it just blinks off and on once and you're fine after. Hope that helps!

Do InMotion Hosting's VPS Hosting Plans Include the Backup Manager Feature?

I do not see the option for backup or purchasing storage in my marketplace (VPS server). Is this located somewhere other then AMP=> marketplace?

I would like to backup my logs offsite - for PCI compliance. The backup manager seemed like a good option, but it does not appear to be available on VPS under AMP => marketplace. Is this service still available?
