Altered RPMs found on vps

I keep getting emails like this:

-----
Problems were detected with cPanel-provided files which are RPM controlled.
If you did not make these changes intentionally, you can correct them by running:

> /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/check_cpanel_rpms --fix

The following RPMs are found to be altered from their original install state:
cpanel-splitlogs,1.0,2.cp1136,/usr/local/cpanel/bin/splitlogs

This is a newly-created account, and I have not done anything to it yet. So, I'm not sure if I should run the suggested command, or if I should worry that my account is being tampered with. What do you suggest?

Hello, Thanks for contacting us about the email you are receiving. While that is not normal for a VPS, the research I did says that running the recommended command fix usually resolves the issue. There is no reason given as to why the email goes out or what causes any random RPM changes. To run the fix you would need to do so via SSH. If you are not comfortable with running the command you can certainly contact out Live Support team about it and they can assist you there. Please contact us again if you have any further questions. Kindest Regards, Scott M
