WordPress image upload http error and imagemagick

kobusaf 5 years ago in Other / Image Editing 0
I have several add-on domains on my VPS account with WordPress installations and I can't upload image files to any of my WordPress media libraries without getting an http error. The only image I've been able to successfully upload was a .jpg that was 46kb in size. Anything larger and I get an http error. The problem seems to be with imagemagick. If I add the code below to the functions.php file of my WordPress installation, forcing the use of GD, image upload works fine.

add_filter( 'wp_image_editors', 'change_graphic_lib' );
function change_graphic_lib($array) {
return array( 'WP_Image_Editor_GD', 'WP_Image_Editor_Imagick' );
}

Is there any way to fix this without having to edit each WordPress installation independently?

Can't see media files after Primary Domain Change

turtle24 5 years ago in Other / Image Editing 0
I have called support. They were unable to resolve the problem I am having. I changed the primary domain on my account today. Not sure if this has to do with the problem. Now, I am unable to see the images in the media center. Even when I download new images they all display as a blank thumbnail. The tech support thought it might have to do with the coding through the theme on wordpress.
Any images that were downloaded prior to the change, have remained intact on the actual website.
Also, I want to link a second domain name to a specific page on my website. Is this possible? Is it not advised? Am I going to run into the same challenges?

Hi, I rent vps8631.inmotionhosting.com, a VPS server. It's awesome.

Wondering if imagemagick is installed on it and is usable? Please confirm.

Why can't ImageMagick be run from a script?

jdgrimes 8 years ago in Other / Image Editing 0
I am on a shared server, and would like to use ImageMagick to convert an SVG file to a jpeg image, but I have found that I can't run ImageMagick from within a PHP script. According to this page, it can only be run from the command line, or, on a shared server by using exec() or a cron job:

http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/website/general-server-setup/is-imagemagick-installed-on-the-servers

1) Why aren't the API's installed?
2) Is it possible to install them? Or is using exec() or a cron job really my only option?

Image Magick directory path in Omeka?

JesseH 8 years ago in Other / Image Editing 0
According to the documentation ("Is ImageMagick installed on the servers?"), Image Magick is located at /usr/bin/convert and /usr/bin/mogrify. When I insert either (or both) of these addresses in the Omeka Settings page, the test fails.

GD library, what TrueType (ttf) fonts are available?

mikeling 8 years ago in Other / Image Editing 0
Using the GD library to create images on the fly, I'm trying to use the imagettftext() function which asks for the path of a truetype font as one of its parameters.

Reference:
http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.imagettftext.php

What fonts are available, and can I specify the path in a way such as: "./arial.ttf"?
