Problem with Open Cart pricing.

simonbk 7 years ago in Ecommerce / Opencart 0
heartlandpetbeds.com

I have discovered a unique problem with my Open Cart.

My product line offers different sizes for most of the items. This means that there is different pricing for each size.

The way this theme is set up I have to put in a base price for the product or no product price will show up at all.

When it comes to sizes the theme is set up to add a price difference when it comes to sizes.

Example:

Base Price $50.00

Size large: +32.50

For a total price of $82.50

I don't think that customers are going to understand this process. Can we change this?

Category Page Banners

simonbk 7 years ago in Ecommerce / Opencart 0
heartlandpetbeds.com

Please take a look at one of my category pages. I started adding an image to the banners of my category pages yesterday and noticed a problem.

Take a look at "Bed Parts" category. Note how large the banner is. The width is fine but the height is way too much. I got the same results when I tried to add banner images to the other categories.

I looked at the category section of the style sheet but I can't see where the actual size of the banner is.

Please take a look and let me know what changes I need to make and the line to make them on.

Header Categories (Open Cart)

simonbk 7 years ago in Ecommerce / Opencart 0

Good morning Open cart wizards.

I need your help. Please take a look at the categories in my header. I need to add one more category, "bed parts".

Every time I try to add (one more) category it deletes ALL of the categories on the header. Apparently Open cart likes five categories in the header BUT not six.

What is going on?

Open Cart SSL

Question about:

Tutorial:

103: Setting up your payment gateway.

Section 1: How to set up your SSL connections in Open Cart.

Step 3.

HTTPS:

Change Image and Server to.....https.

Done that, no problem.

However, in the ADMIN CONFIG.PHP HTTPS There is also a https for CATALOG. I did not change that. I left it as HTTP.

Do I need to change the CATALOG as well. If so, tell me why because it is not in the tutorial.

Rougue Pricing

simonbk 7 years ago in Ecommerce / Opencart 0
Good morning Open Cart techs.

heartlandpetbeds.com/test

I have many product pages, all of which work just fine. I do however have one product page which keeps inserting a rogue price without explanation.

Please have a look at Dog Beds>Organic Bumper Bed. When I created this product, Open Cart kept inserting the price $66.63.
Note please that the price of $55.00 is correct in the admin section.

It did that for a few hours the day I created it and then went away.

Yesterday I simply changed the product image for the product and BAM! it's back and this time will not go away.

Please note that I have deleted cookies several times and refreshed several times and it's now a day later and it is still there.

Please find out why Open Cart seems to like the price of $66.63 on that one product only.

Thanks

OpenCart Taxes

Lim 7 years ago in Ecommerce / Opencart 0
I sell to Australia and overseas. In Australia we have 10% GST where as there is zero tax for export.

I am familiar with geo zones etc but the problem I have is the tax is only showing up at the total/check out page. I want OpenCart to show the correct price (Australian buyers +10% GST; other buyers no GST) at the product page. I do not want to take buyers all the way to check out to be told there is a 10% GST not to show an inflated price to overseas buyers to drive them away. I had a programmer who suggested that he could modify for OC to determine the location of the IP address but then this only solves half the problem because an Australian buyer could log on from Singapore and it shows no GST but at check out, OC will use the location address (Australia) and adds GST.

I think one solution is to have the buyer to select the geographical location to begin with so that the correct price will be chosen. Has any dealt with this before? If so, what was your approach?

Open cart Category location

simonbk 7 years ago in Ecommerce / Opencart 0
Good morning Open Cart techs,

Yesterday I did some house cleaning with regard to my Categories on the HOME page.

The only thing I did was get rid of some of the old default subcategories and changed the name of one of my new categories. It immediately moved my categories to the top of my header, also looks like it changed the font size.

I usually do pretty good in the Style Sheet but as I have said before this particular one looks different to me and there are so many settings in the category section.

Please advise,

Which code do I want to move the Categories where I want. I can play around with the positioning once I know which coding to use.

Also please advise on the changing of Font size and style.

Thanks in advance.

Slideshow banner speed.

simonbk 7 years ago in Ecommerce / Opencart 0
Please advise.

heartlandpetbeds.com/test

Typically slideshow banners allow for a way for the speed of the slideshow to be manipulated. I don't see a way in Open Cart for me to speed-up or slow-down the speed of my slideshow.

I figured that it might be in the CSS Style sheet but did not see it.
