Drupal site offline after PHP export

I plan to upgrade the sohistory.org website from Drupal 6 to 7. In preparation, I decided to create a clone test.sohistory.org site and try to upgrade that first. In the process, I also deleted a few subdirectories that were no longer in use. Then I exported my database via PHPMyAdmin (trying to follow the Inmotion Hosting instructions).
Now the sohistory.org site is offline, and I can't find instructions that work for fixing the problem (trying to log in with sohistory.org/user, etc). I would like to know how I caused the problem and how to fix it.
Thanks for your help.

Hello, Sorry that you're having problems with your Drupal site after making a clone. We probably need a little more information about how you made the clone. Are you using the SAME database name? Or did you change the database name of the clone? Are the references in your clone site using the correct database? I would probably double-check all of the references for the clone and compare them to original site. They should not be identical as the site will be identical based on the theme/template and database entries. If you continue to have problems, I would recommend that you have request the restore of a backup in order to get you original installation files restored. I hope this helps to answer your question, please let us know if you require any further assistance. Regards, Arnel C.
