Is the selection of extensions, e.g., .com versus .net, important? What's the difference?

Hello,

Thank you for your question on domain extensions. Think of an extension as a 'last name' for your domain. This means that each domain name (first part + 'last name' extension) is a separate name and can be a separate website. Though some claim that .com is still the King of extensions, there are many, many others out there. Some are industry specific, others country specific. It is more a matter of taste and availability as no preference is given in the search engines bases on the extension alone.

Kindest Regards,
