How to get account username and password

Hi

I'm just wondering how to find my username and password

I've hired a developer to create my website, and he is asking for this information, however I am unable to find it in the emails I have received. Also, I'm wondering whether there are any risks associated with giving someone else this information?

Thanks

Hello! Thanks for the question! For information on giving a developer/designer access, please see Giving your Developer/Designer Access to your account. Previous to the Account Management Panel (AMP), there used to be only the cPanel, and the main issue with security at that point was that your developer would be able to get information on the billing portion of the account. The Account Management Panel (AMP) allowed us to separate this for your convenience. However, there is a possible problem if you are hosting more than one domain on your account and you don't want a developer/designer access to that software/website. We would advise separate accounts or Reseller hosting in that case to separate access to the accounts. To summarize, you can give access to your account cPanel because it uses a different user name and password than the Account Management Panel (AMP). AMP access should have been provided to you when you first opened the account. If you're logged into AMP,then you can find your account technical information here. This includes your cPanel user name and the server information. You can always change your cPanel password in AMP. If you've lost your AMP user name (it's based on your account primary email address), and you're not able to recover the password through the Lost Password option at the login screen, then call into our live technical support team (contact info is at the bottom of the page). They are available 24/7. I hope this helps to answer your question, please let us know if you require any further assistance. Kindest regards, Arnel C.
