how can outlook be refreshed?

no emails are coming through my desktop.
there is no response to send/receive button.

Hello, Thank you for your question. There are several things to check when troubleshooting Outlook issues. First, I would simply restart Outlook, by closing it completely and restarting it from scratch. Next, check your Outgoing mail, to ensure nothing is stuck. Often, if an outgoing message is stuck it will stop you completing the send/receive process. ISP's often block certain email ports, for example Port 25.
