enable fileinfo extension (php)

  • Answered
I was installing a php program which require the php extension fileinfo.
I tried to install it in cpanel, but with no luck.
I had run the phpinfo.php script in the root, it says fileinfo is diabled.

I am wondering if there is any way I can use this extension?
Thank you in advance!

The fileinfo extension would need to be installed through a PECL install package for fileinfo. Unfortunately, you cannot do this yourself, but our system team can do this for you. The fileinfo has a serverwide requirement that will need to be reviewed by our systems team. So, in order to have it installed you will need to submit an email to [email protected] - specify what you are trying to have done (install fileinfo). Make sure that you include your account verification information on the email - last 4 digits of the credit card on the account OR the AMP password.
