Erroneous mailbox full message

When people try to send email to one of our mailboxes, the server is immediately responding:
This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

[email protected]
mailbox is full: retry timeout exceeded

However, the mailbox has no quota, and the current usage space is zero.

Any idea as to why the mail server is saying the mailbox is full?

In order for us troubleshoot this we would need to know what specific domain is affected on the VPS. Can you please either provide more information, or contact live technical support in order to handle the issue privately. Posts on the Support Center are open to the public.
