why is my IP suddenly blocked since 24 hours?

hello. since 24 hours my ip-address is blocked by inmotionhosting. i suddenly got an email, that due to a high amount of IMAP connections my ip got blocked. i had no idea why that happened and got the reply from support to turn off IMAP IDLE on my macbook mail accounts. which i did and confirmed this by email. since then i got no more reply and my ip is still blocked. what is going on?

Hello roohm, Thank you for your question. The IMAP idle function can cause mac mail to connect to the IMAP server over and over without closing the previous connection, sometimes hitting the server multiple times per second which would be considered excessive resource usage. Here is a link to a helpful article on how to Disable IMAP IDLE in Mac Mail. In a shared setting, since this can affect other users we are forced to stop the connections by blocking the IP Address.
