Working in website, was disconnected. Message said "Error in connecting to database" or something close to that, what happened?

When you get intermittent "Error in connecting to database" errors on your site, typically it is caused by an issue with the MySQL service on the server. If you see this happen you can contact support at 1-888-321-4678 ext 2 or chat with a support tech for a server update. There may be an issue with the server that needs to be addresses by our systems administrator or our systems support may be working on the server.

If the error is not intermittent and the site continues to throw the error, you may have mistakenly removed or changed the MySQL connect script for the website to work. Depending on what program the site was created with will depend on where the MySQL connection script is located. Find the connection script php file and double check the setting in there to see if they match what is in the MySQL databases in cpanel. Hello Dan, and thanks for your question. Unfortunately without knowing your account name or domain name we'd be unable to tell you the exact cause of this problem. Typically when you get an "Error in connecting to database", this means that you might have filled up your maximum amount of connections to the database temporarily. Or possibly changed your application's database configuration settings to something invalid, and now it can't connect. If you feel comfortable responding back to this public community support center with your domain name we can take a look for you. Alternatively typically for these type of issues, contacting our support staff to ensure there hasn't been a temporary issue on your server, or so they can pull up your account and review the errors you're encountering is the best way.
