Why does the permalink add a number?

I am using the "WP Simple PayPal Shopping Cart" plugin. My permalink field looks like this: "Permalink: http://slingerstraps.com/shop-2"
What do I have to do to take the "2" off of the end of it? Coincidentally my "add to cart" buttons stopped linking to my shopping cart when I tried to make changes to the permalinks on both products last night. I appreciate any tips!
Thanks!

Hello Slinger,

when testing your site, I do not see the permalink adding a number at the end of the page. I do see that the Add To Cart button is looking for a page that has the number at the end, however. That is when I get the 404 error.

I am unable to duplicate the behavior using my own wordpress after adding the plugin. I tried switching the permalinks after adding items and the Add to Cart button, but it seemed to handle the change well.

I would check your permalink settings and ensure they are set the way you want hthem and perhaps reset the button code by deleting and re-adding them to see if that helps. If not, I am glad to take a further look into the plugin behavior. I would need a bit more information, namely the wordpress admin login information (user and password).

You can send the specific information to [email protected] Be sure to validate your account with either the last 4 digits of the credit card on file, or the current Account Management Panel (AMP) password. As we do not actively monitor that address, be sure to leave a comment below so we know the information was sent.
