My website's been hacked, have I done everything I need to?

By chance I have discovered that my website had been hacked a few days ago (well that's what it looks like to me).I only found out by Googling my own website name. There seems to have been extra bits added on like a folder named "partir" that had a huge number of files in it. I viewed the site remotely and deleted the file, then decided I would upload the whole thing from my backup just in case there was anything else I might have missed. I have changed passwords too but is there anything else I should do?

Hi turfpig,

Thanks for posting your question. I'm more than happy to assist you. You'll want to make sure you change all your passwords including cPanel, any content management system, etc. Also, be sure to update all your website's software including anyt content management system and plugins.

You'll want to run a malware scan of your local computer you access your account to be sure there's nothing on it that may be harvesting your passwords.

If you need further assistance please feel free to contact us.

Thanks!
