Hi spacenation,

Thanks for posting your question. I'm more than happy to assist you. FTPS (also known as FTP Secure and FTP-SSL) is an extension to the commonly used File Transfer Protocol (FTP) that adds support for the Transport Layer Security (TLS) and the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) cryptographic protocols.

FTP is a common protocol for transporting files via the internet. With standard FTP, there is no encryption methodology. FTPS should not be confused with SFTP, which is a secure method of FTP, which requires SSH access.

I hope this helps! If you have further questions or need assistance please feel free to contact us.

Thanks!
