I want to upgrade my avada theme without losing its customizations.

Hi, I have installed Avada theme on my WordPress site and I have done so many customizations from the theme options (theme options functionality comes with the theme for customizing the colors, widgets etc).
So I want to know how can I safely upgrade the theme to the latest version so it won't affect the settings I have made for the theme?
If I create a child theme now? then will it help to remains the setting as it is and upgrade the theme version only?

Hello, Thanks for the question about the Avada theme, your customizations and upgrading your theme. Unfortunately, the only way to save your customizations was if you had done them in a child theme to start. Then you would be able to move them over to the updated theme. You may simply have to recreate the updates in the new version of the Avada theme. It is a third-party created theme, so you may need to speak with them (the theme developers) if you need to make a programmatic change because of the update.
