Thank you for your question on having a cgi-bin folder. All hosting accounts should come with a cgi-bin folder located under the public_html folder. If it is not there, it can be created by clicking on the 'New Folder' tool and naming it 'cgi-bin'.
Your personal computer type will have no effect on the hosting server, so it does not matter if you are connecting via a Mac.
