How to work on subdomain website

I created a subdomain but I cannot figure out how to actually work on the website for the subdomain. I want to sue a different theme from my main domain website - both are wordpress. I cannot figure out how to sign on as admin to this area of my website.

Thanks for your question about working on a WordPress subdomain site. This depends on definitions because many people call domains that are on their account and NOT the primary domain, subdomains. We actually call domains added to an account as addon domains. Subdomains are defined as either folders or directories that have been defined in cPanel and given DNS entries so that they are recognized on the internet. To put it in simpler terms:

Primary domains look like this in a browser:
Addon domains also look have the same appearance:
Subdomains look like this OR

WordPress uses a particular URL for logging into its Administrator dashboard once you have installed it. By default, it will look like this:

If you added a subdomain and installed WordPress on it, then it can be accessed in the internet browser with this format:

IF you used the subdomain in this format during the WordPress installation:, then the URL for the backend would look like this:

Whenever you need to work on the WordPress site, you will be mainly working through the backend. So, you must login. I hope that helps to explain it all. If you're confused by it, please let us know so that we can clarify it further as needed.
