Adding a TXT record to the DNS configuration to verify site ownership

Google requests that I verify site ownership in order to submit it to google. One of the ways to do that is to add a TXT record to the DNS configuration. Goggle provides the TXT record. Where do I do that with inmotionhosting being the hosting provider for my site ? I tried doing it with GoDaddy who has the domain, but their support says it has to be done with the hosting provider.

Hi Nathan, in our configuration of cPanel, you'll usually need to type out the domain rather than using '@'. Try that instead and see if it works. Hope that helps!

Hello, Thank you for contacting us about adding TXT records. You can add these records (and other kinds) through the Advanced DNS Editor in your cPanel. Once you access the Zone Editor you will choose the domain you are adding the records to and then fill out the fields with the information you received from Google. Best, Christopher M.
