My New WordPress Multisite Installation

Greetings! I just installed my 2nd WordPress site tonight, and noticed something strange. (For transparency reasons, yup...I'm new to WordPress, but a veteran IT person.)

In my first site, the upper-right hand corner looks like this screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/X4lyJ3FzMR

Then on the new second site, the upper-right hand corner looks like this screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/m5hiAbO5

When I click on the key in the upper left-hand corner of the insure site, this is what I see: http://screencast.com/t/mu4TUdMZXKgL

The "Network Admin" selection allows Plugins & Themes to be installed. The "KMK Insurance" feature does not. Not sure why a new install would allow this. It's confusing to me.

Can anyone explain this for me? I'd really like to know why this is happening, and how to resolve it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hello Todd, Sorry for the confusion regarding the WordPress installation. Your screenshots indicate that you are using a WordPress Multisite installation. The differences in appearance and functionality are due to the way that WordPress multisite installations work. You will only be able to install plugins or themes at the network admin level. The official documentation for this type of WordPress installation can be found here. A pretty good third-party guide for using Multisite can be seen here. I hope this helps to answer your question, please let us know if you require any further assistance. Regards, Arnel C.
