when I click on outlook a message at the bottom of the page says synchronising and then Send /receive error appears

In reviewing Microsoft's support documentation for assistance with their product, it is recommended to try checking to make sure the application is not working in "offline" mode. Microsoft also recommends running updates on your computer to make sure it is running the latest version of Windows and Outlook.
