Insufficient permissions to access this page

I have worked with inmotion support without success. Basically, I am able to login to my wordpress site but when I try to access the dashboard, it says insufficient permissions to access this page. I have went through the user settings and so has inmotion support which confirmed that the access level is correct. They stated it could be an issue with my wp table prefix but I cannot see any other prefixes in php_admin. I really need to login to my account and not sure what to do.

Hello aeriksen,

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your admin login. Permissions issues often are solved by ensuring the files and folders all have the proper permissions. If you are unsure, our Live Support can run a script that will look through every file and folder in your cPanel and set them properly.

If the issue still persists, you will need to turn to standard WordPress troubleshooting. The first thing is to test the plugins by disabling them all in bulk. From there, you can see if the issue persists. If not, enable them one by one, testing in between to see if the issue reappears. Once it appears, then the last plugin that you enabled would be the issue.

If the plugins pass, you can test your theme by switching to one of the default themes. If the issue stops after switching, then it was the theme causing the issue.

Failing all that, there is a possibility that there is a mod_security issue on the account. Our Live Support can check to see if any error was thrown on the server and disable the mod_security for your account.

Kindest Regards,
Scott M
