how to use email with magento

I want to know how to set up the email so it automatically sends a email if they sign up for an account and to know if I can link my cpanel email accounts to magento.

Hello, Thank you for your question on Magento email. By default, the customer should receive a Welcome email. You can also set any email addresses you want within the dashboard by going to "System>Configuration>General>Store Email Addresses" Kindest Regards, Scott M
