Community,

Looking for help on setting up Magento on a shared hosting. I would like to save it in a sub-folder. but don't show it on a URL.

example

http://website.com/sub-folder

I would like it to look like this:

http://website.com

Now I don't know if this is the community to ask this, but its a start.

Thanks

Nathan

Arnel,

The Inmotion hosting has both. I would like to set it up and will move it to VPS as I don't know how long it will to get all 5-6 sites up and running . I am just asking if some one can send me the steps as I think I have don't it before but not sure.

Thanks again for your patience!  I did a little searching around and found that this question has been asked in other forums.  You can find the answer to your question in this post:  https://magento.stackexchange.com/questions/148290/installing-magento2-subfolder-url.  It will require a modification to the .htaccess with a re-write.  They provide the code and there is some discussion on the issue that may help you.

Thanks for your question about using Magento on shared hosting. I asked around about this and supposedly, it can work on shared hosting, but it is recommended that you host Magento on a VPS for more resources to process complex PHP process. If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Kindest regards,

Arnel C.
