What is the path to the PHP executable?

I am using a Joomla extension called RO CSVI and I'm trying to set up a cron job. I'm following this tutorial and in constructing the command I need to provide the path to a "PHP executable" to run the extension's cron.php file, and the example they give is "/usr/local/bin/php".

What is the correct path for inmotionhosting?

Thank you for your answer Arnel.

I am not finding the php executable where you suggest. I'm accessing our server's File Manager through our cPanel, but I'm not finding a "public_html/cig-bin" folder. There is a "bin" folder in our root directory (at the same level as public_html) but it is empty.

If you're unable to see the cgi-bin you need to simply create it.  If that doesn't work, then please contact our live technical support team and they'll be able to access your account and help you with that folder.

Here is a helpful link to our guide on how to run a cron job. It provides the following example path for PHP scripts:

/home/usern5/public_html/scripts/testrun.php

In this example, you just create a "scripts" folder in the public_html folder, then put a testrun.php script in the scripts folder. The folders and scripts can be named anything you want.

Thank you very much, that guide was useful and cPanel's cron job interface suggested a filepath that ended up working. :)

Hello William,

Thanks for the question about the path.  Generally, the path will be in the "bin" file. By default, InMotion uses a "cig-bin" folder under the public_html folder.

If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Kindest regards,

Arnel C.
