receive this error:

Bad Request

Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.

Additionally, a 400 Bad Request error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I have the exact same situation as described above. When I get the error message, it affects access to every back-end Joomla on my server.

Just now I get a "Joomla Loging Temporarily Disabled" message "due to a high number of failed login attempts..." which point to where the issue is. The problem clears up in an hour or two, but is a great frustration when I am making multiple product updates within Virtuemart - which is where this usually happens.

Hello amseam,

Thank you for your contacting us about an "Bad Request" error when accessing the Joomla backend. As a test, try renaming your .htaccess file.

We are happy to help you troubleshoot further, but will need some additional information. What were you working on when this started happening? For example, did you update an extension/theme or your version of Joomla before this started?

Can you provide specific steps, and links to help us replicate and view the error?

If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below.

Thank you,

John-Paul
