Changing between dedicated plans

InMotionFans 5 years ago in Server / General Server Setup 0
If I downgrade my plan from an Advanced Dedicated Server to an Essential Dedicated Server, or upgrade to an Elite Dedicated Server, do I need to backup all my content and domains from my current server, and upload it again to the new server, or I just change plans, wait and this data transfer will be automatic?

Server Downtime a Problem

saabits 5 years ago in Server / Server Usage 0
At the time of writing, the ecbiz97 shared business server has been down or crippled for almost 4 days. Web-sites have been restored from a 2-month-old backup (!) and so has e-mail (although that appears now to be inaccessible again). I've pulled our e-commerce domain and hosted it elsewhere - thank goodness we keep up-to-date backups because it looks as though Inmotion do not. We lost more in business than the cost of a year's hosting in the day or so that our site was down. However, we have got other domains that we would like to see up and running again.

I know the notice says there is no ETA for the server to be operational again but surely there must be some estimate, no matter how vague, after all this time? I did wonder why a company like Inmotion would not simply build a new server from a nightly backup but I think I see now - I'm guessing there was no nightly backup and the only way to restore up-to-date data is from the failed server itself?

Please can we have some idea when our data will be accessible again?

Regards,

Bill.

hopewise 5 years ago in Server / General Server Setup 0
I tried to use apt-get, but I got:
root@vps149** [~/public_html]# apt-get install build-essential
-bash: apt-get: command not found

I already signed in using my root password, isn't it linux based server?

I cannot log into Nginx Admin

Yoav1987 5 years ago in Server / General Server Setup 0
After Inmotion installed for me Nginx and Memcached, I wanted to configure it but I've always got this message: You do not have the proper permissions to access Nginx Admin... This is from AMP.

Do you have any idea how to fix it?

Cron not working on my VPS

InMotionFans 5 years ago in Server / General Server Setup 0
I setup cron into cpanel account of saledekho.com. I tested this cron on other shared hosts and it runs successfully. But here on vps not executing cron jobs. I also setup email to receive cron alerts but can not get.

I tried to check log using ssh client as per instruction on this link
http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/website/cron-jobs/did-cron-job-run
but client returned an error "no such file or directory"

Please fix this problem asap.

PHP opcode caching needed

jmj5g 5 years ago in Server / General Server Setup 0
Please add PHP opcode caching to my domain at the3doors.org. Please duplicate the settings used at my other domain at johnjackson.info. That PHP configuration works great with my Moodle installations.

thanks!

BTW, the link in AMP to submit a verified ticket seems to just go to a "how to" page, rather than actually start a ticket. Might be a glitch with switching to your new support system.
