When setting up your email client to send and receive email over SSL the following ports will need to be used:

POP: 995
IMAP: 993
SMTP: 465

If you have any trouble you will want to set them back to the default ports:

POP: 110
IMAP: 143
SMTP: 587

You may receive a domain mismatch error in your mail client, and in that case you can change your incoming and/or outgoing server to match the secure server name of the machine your site is hosted on, for example,

secure##.inmotionhosting.com

Please refer to your Technical details in AMP for your server information. Keep in mind you should only use the secure server name over SSL!

I am trying to configure my inmotion email (farnoosh@bitcouch.com) with my my gmail but i keep receiiving failur email upon verifying the email.

what is the solution?

Hi Farnoosh,

I'm sorry to see you're having issues with connecting your email account with Gmail. I'm not exactly sure how to resolve the error.

I went through the process of adding a test account on my own server and did not encounter any errors. However, I can see with Gmail's automated process, that the username does not include the "@domain.com" portion of the email account. It seems when Gmail is verifying the account details, it truncates the username and therefore may be causing the error. If you modify that to be the full email account, then try again, it should work.

If you continue to have issues, I recommend you simply reach out to our Live Support. You can then simply provide the account details you are using to connect and they can attempt to replicate and trouble shoot issues with your server. Also, if you can provide more details of the error you are seeing to them, they may be able to review the server logs and assist in correcting the configuration.

Hi!

I'm trying to connect my gmail account with my domain mail. I get error every time, when use 

POP: 995SMTP: 465

secure##.inmotionhosting.com

But I can get connection, when use 

POP: 110SMTP: 587

Unfortunately, this connection isn't secure.

Why connection to secure##.inmotionhosting.com unavailable?

secureXX.inmotionhosting.com should be available. What server number are you on so we can test to be sure?
