How to enable the Forum module in Drupal 7

Drupal 7 contains a stock module to add a forum or discussion board to your website. Forums can be a great place for your website’s visitors to share information amongst themselves and create an online community. The first step in setting up a forum in Drupal 7 is to enable the Forum module. This can be accomplsihed through your Drupal admin dashboard.

To add a forum to Drupal 7:

  1. Log into your Drupal 7 Dashboard
  2. Go to Modules
  3. Scroll down and select the checkbox next to the Forum module

  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the Save configuration button.

    Once you have enabled the Forum module you will still need to configure it. The Forum module does require other modules such as Comment and Taxonomy to be enabled, however they are enabled by default. If for some reason thay have been turned off you’ll be prompted to enable them again. Once the Forum module is enabled it will add a link to the Navigation menu.
