InMotion Hosting Support Center

If you are using IMAP to connect to your email account you may only see your inbox folder and no other folders you may have set up in another mail application or webmail. An IMAP folder list can be downloaded to your Outlook 2010 email client so you can subscribe to it.

  1. Open your Outlook 2010 email client
  2. In the left pane, right-click on the top level folder for your IMAP account
  3. Click "IMAP Folders"

  5. Click "Query"
  6. outlook_imap_folders_2

  7. Select a folder and then click "Subscribe". If you want to select multiple folders, press and hold the crtl key as you select multiple folders.

If you do not see all the folders you have created in another mail program or webmail itself, you may need to update the IMAP folder list. The folder list can be updated by following these steps. It may be necessary to repeat these steps multiple times until all your folders appear:

  1. In the left pane, right-click on the top level folder for your IMAP account
  2. Click "Update Folder List"
  3. outlook_imap_folders_4

Hi there,

Thanks for this, but I've tried it and when I choose my folder(s) and click subscribe it doesn't do anything.

My email account is through my domain which is hosted by bluehost. Could that be the issue?

Hello Jane,

Thank you for contacting us. If your email is setup using the IMAP option, it should work successfully.

If it is not working, I recommend reviewing the mail logs for errors, or record of your connection. Your host should be able to help you with this.

Thanks so much for the help, John-Paul.

I'll get in touch with bluehost and see - although this is now the least of my worries as I just learnt my account has been hacked and infected with malware and I'm trying to navigate my way through that (I'm a blogger, not a coder!)

Oh, and I realised after posting my initial comment that this is actually a support site for inmotion hosting company, so I really appreciate your response.
