Text Entry for Home – Joomla 3 Breadcrumb settings Updated on June 8, 2023 by Brad Markle 1 Minutes, 2 Seconds to Read In our last article, we showed you how to remove “Home” from your Joomla 3 breadcrumbs. If you wanted to keep “Home” but change the text to something else, you can. For example, you can have “Blog” show instead of “Home” in your breadcrumbs. One of the Joomla 3 breadcrumb settings, Text for Home Entry, allows you to change the home text. This setting is defined by Joomla as follows: Text for Home Entry This text will be shown as Home entry. If the field is left empty, it will use the default value from the mod_breadcrumbs.ini language file To change the “Home” text in your breadcrumbs: Log into your Joomla 3 dashboard In the top menu, click Extensions and then click Module Manager Find and click on your breadcrumbs module Find the Text for Home Entry setting. Depending on your Joomla version, it should be under either the Module tab or the Basic Settings tab. Enter a new value for Text for Home Entry, and then click the Save button at the top of the page. In our testing, we entered blog. You can see in the screenshots below how this changed our breadcrumbs: Text for Home Entry left blank Text for Home Entry set as “Blog” Share this Article Related Articles How to Use the Free Mini Frontpage Extension for Joomla 4.0 How to Change a Joomla 2.5 User’s Email Address How to Configure Joomla 2.5 to Send Email Using SMTP How to Edit a Joomla 3 Template How to install Phoca Gallery for Joomla 2.5 Creating a Menu Item for your Joomla 3 Component Changing Email Settings in Joomla 3.1 Using the Redirect Manager in Joomla 3.1 How to add Bootstrap to a Joomla 3.1 Template How to Use Bootstrap 5.0 Alerts in Joomla 4.0
