Professional Website Services Product Guide

Welcome to Professional Website Services from InMotion Hosting. The Professional Website Services team designs, builds, fixes, speeds up, optimizes for search, and maintains WordPress sites, so you can spend your time on your business instead of your website. Design and build projects come with a dedicated project manager who coordinates the designers and developers for you and keeps the work on schedule.

This guide follows a website project from start to finish: choosing a service, onboarding with your project manager, design and revisions, launch, and the care, search, and speed work that keeps your site healthy afterward. If your site has been hacked, go straight to Hacked Site Repair.

Not Sure Which Service Fits?

Professional Website Services aren’t sold through a self-service checkout. Instead, you talk through your goals with the InMotion Hosting Sales team, and they help you choose a plan or put together a custom quote. If you’re already in a project, reply to your project manager’s email thread instead.

The Website Project Journey

Six phases, in the order a project usually runs. Start at phase 1 if you’re still choosing a service, or jump to the phase your project is in now.

1

Choose Your Service

before you buy

Decide what your site needs: a custom design built around your brand, a fast template-based QuickSite, or a rebuild of a site you already have. You talk through the project with the InMotion Hosting Sales team before you buy, and you can ask for a custom quote if your project doesn’t fit a standard plan.

2

Onboarding & Kickoff

after purchase

InMotion Hosting emails you an intake questionnaire about your goals, brand assets, designs you like, and the content or features you have in mind. Onboarding also includes a one-on-one call with your project manager, who then becomes your single point of contact and sets your timeline and milestones. The more detail you share up front, the faster your project moves.

3

Design, Build & Revisions

varies by service

The team designs and builds your site while you review it. For Custom Website Design, the designers create a custom Figma prototype of your homepage for you to review before any code is written. You leave feedback with Feedbucket, a WordPress plugin that lets you click any part of the site and comment right where you want a change. Your plan includes set revision rounds for design and development, and your project manager confirms how many at kickoff, so group your feedback into each round. Most Custom Website Design projects finish within four to six weeks, and a QuickSite project takes up to 21 days (three weeks), depending on your plan.

4

Review & Launch

at handover

Once you and your project manager sign off on design and development, your site goes live and you get full access to your WordPress dashboard to edit text, swap images, and publish new pages. What you receive at handover depends on your plan: some plans include a training session and a style guide, and your project manager confirms exactly what yours includes.

5

Care, Search & Speed

ongoing

Keep your site current after launch. InMotion Care WordPress maintenance plans handle security updates, plugin and theme updates, malware scanning, backups, and uptime monitoring with email alerts, and every Custom Website Design and QuickSite project includes one to three months of InMotion Care. When you’re ready to grow, SEO Foundations sets up keyword targeting and on-page optimization, and the website speed optimization service tunes a staged copy of your site before changes go live. Optimization projects run from a few days to several weeks, depending on the project.

6

Fix & Recover

when you need it

If your site is hacked, Hacked Site Repair removes the malicious code, updates software with security gaps, and covers the site for 30 days after the repair. Priority targets completion within 24 hours and Standard within 48 hours. Most repairs finish within 2 to 3 business days, depending on when the team receives your login credentials and any premium plugin or theme files. InMotion Care Plus and higher plans include Proactive Hacked Site Repair.

Each service has a Support Center guide that explains what’s included and what to expect, plus a service page with the current plans. Figma to WordPress and Dev Hours are covered on their service pages.
