Common 3rd Party SMTP settings

On some occasions, users may want to connect to an external mail service such as Gmail or Yahoo when sending mail from their website. In this article, we will be outlining the settings required for sending mail with various 3rd party mail services when using an email client such as Thunderbird or Outlook.

Gmail SMTP Settings

• Host: smtp.gmail.com
• SMTP Port (TLS): 587
• SMTP Port (SSL): 465
• Username: Your full Gmail address ([email protected])
• Password: Your Gmail password
• TLS/SSL Required: Yes

Yahoo SMTP Settings

• Host: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
• SMTP Port: 465
• Username: Your full Yahoo address ([email protected])
• Password: Your Yahoo password
• TLS/SSL Required: Yes

Yahoo Mail Plus SMTP Settings

• Host: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
• SMTP Port: 465
• Username: Your full Yahoo address ([email protected])
• Password: Your Yahoo password
• TLS/SSL Required: Yes

Outlook.com SMTP Settings

• Host: smtp-mail.outlook.com
• SMTP Port: 587
• Username: Your full Outlook.com address ([email protected])
• Password: Your Outlook.com password
• Encryption Type: STARTTLS

Hotmail.com SMTP Settings

• Host: smtp.office365.com
• SMTP Port: 587
• Username: Your full Hotmail.com address ([email protected])
• Password: Your Hotmail.com password
• Encryption Type: STARTTLS

Office365.com SMTP Settings

• Host: smtp.office365.com
• SMTP Port: 587
• Username: Your full email address that is configured to use Office365 ([email protected])
• Password: Your password configured for the chosen email address.
• Encryption Type: STARTTLS
