Supported Server Software Reference Guide

Our system administrators, or sysadmins, will oftentimes install complex software on your behalf. This is normally done for free unless there’s a high amount of man hours required to complete the installation.

If there will be a software installation charge, our Systems team will provide you a quote before anything is done. You’ll also be notified if the price has changed or if there are any complications.

This lists below are subject to change without notification. Software installation prices and availability can vary depending on your hosting plan. All software installations must be reviewed by our Systems support before we can verify if the software can or cannot be installed and supported on your server.

BFD (Brute-Force Detection)	Requirements: VPS or Dedicated Server Root required: No Requires Professional Solutions Team installation Other: This software detects if an IP is trying to connect to port 22 too many times, then blocks the IP and emails the administrator of the server.

ClamAV	Requirements: VPS or Dedicated Server Root required: The customer does not need root access for basic functionality of this software. However, as with anything done outside a user’s account, if the user wants to scan an entire server then yes, they do need root. Installation cost: Free Other: ClamAV is an antivirus (AV) software for Linux. You can install the ClamAV cPanel plugin or standalone application (for non-cPanel systems).

Other: Mod mono / Mod_Mono is a module for the Apache HTTP server that allows hosting of ASP.NET pages and other assemblies on multiple platforms by use of the Mono development platform. If they plan to run more than one store using Magento they will need a VPS or Dedicated Server or higher. If the store has quite a few items in it and gets a good bit of traffic, a VPS or Dedicated Server will be required.

Software Installation Requests

To request software installations, submit a verified request to technical support. This will create a ticket, and you will receive an email response upon completion or if there are additional questions.

Software installation requests are answered in the order received, and response time varies depending on your request and individual hosting account.
