Creating an Autoresponder in cPanel
An auto responder is a handy tool provided free of charge with your hosting account that allows to you automatically send a reply when a specific email address receives an email. If you decide to go on vacation, you can easily let people who contact you know you are currently away and will respond to their request when you return. It's also great to use to notify customers you have received their email and they will get a response in a pre-determined time frame.
The first step when setting up an auto responder is to log into cPanel. Auto responders can be created through webmail as well, however we will be setting up an auto responder in cPanel. Once you have logged into cPanel, go to the "Mail" section and select Auto Responders:
Once you have clicked on "Auto Responders" then you will need to select "Add Autoresponder"
On the next screen you will need to fill out all the appropriate fields. Once you are satisfied with all the fields you have entered, click "Create/ Modify"
Congratulations! You have successfully set up your first auto responder!

While the autoresponder is good at saying... "Hey, got your email." What it is completely useless for is truly trying to proivde customers with timely, useful information.
It would really be nice if you could program the particular response for customers for a specific time of day.
For instance, from 8-5 "We have received your email and will be with you shortly!"
After 5pm "You have reached us after business hours, but we will get back to you first thing in the morning when we get back in the office"
Weekends... "We will open again Monday morning at 8am. We will contact you first thing upon our return."
Sure, you could put all of that in one email and accomplish the same task. But with todays attention span lacking audience, I would just like to provide the right information, instantly at the right time. It's just good customer relations and service. That little extra attention to detail.

Thank you for contacting us. Typically, the auto-responder is used for an "Out of Office" type of message. I spent some time looking through the Outlook, and Webmail forums, and could not find a solution.
