How to change your WordPress Language and Time Zone
Written by Brad MarkleBy default WordPress uses English as the default language with the timezone set to UTC+0. These settings are easily changed in the WordPress Dashboard.
How do I change my Language?
To use a different language in WordPress you will need to download your language's installation files from the WordPress site itself. Currently WordPress supports 69 different languages and each language has their own separate instructions on how to install the language and may require uploading the files using FTP.
You can use the "WordPress Language" plugin to change your Dashboard language. For information on how to use the WordPress Language plugin see our article on Changing the dashboard language in WordPress.
How do I change my Time Zone?
You will need to login to your WordPress Dashboard. Once you are logged into the dashboard, on the left side menu pane, select "Settings" and then "General Settings".
Once on the General Settings screen, you will find an option labeled, "Timezone". Chooses your city or one nearby from the drop down list. If you know what your time zone is, you can simply choose your time zone. Click "Save changes"
