How to enable SSL in PrestaShop 1.5
Written by Scott MitchellAfter installing and configuring your PrestaShop 1.5 you may want to make some areas more secure. To do this, you will want to enable the SSL for your PrestaShop 1.5. This allows you to make certain areas, such as order processing or account information areas, more secure.
To enable SSL in PrestaShop 1.5:
- Log into your PrestaShop 1.5 dashboard
- Using the top menu bar, hover over the Preferences tab and select the General option.
- From the Preferences : General page, find the Enable SSL option. If you have an SSL installed on your account for the PrestaShop 1.5 domain name, you will be able toclick on a Yes option here, turning on the ability to use SSL on specific pages.
- Click on the green Save button in the upper right corner to save your SSL configuration.
You have now enabled SSL for your PrestaShop 1.5 store.

But, I really need this? The pages like account information will are not secured without SSL? I thought that PrestaShop had a internal security.

PrestaShop does have internal security, however in general information submitted to any website is going to be over clear plain-text channels. Forcing certain sections of your website that transmit sensitive data like credit card numbers or personal information to be over a SSL connection can help ensure that information is secure from prying eyes.
