If your website connects to a database, you will also need to export and download a copy of that database from your previous host.

If your previous host uses phpMyAdmin for database management, and you're comfortable using the interface, please see our article How to Export a Database using phpMyAdmin.

Because database management can vary from host to host, if your previous host does not offer phpMyAdmin, you will want to check with them to find out the best way to obtain a back up of your site's database.

The backup of your database should be either a .sql, .zip, or .tar.gz file.
