Magento 1.6 comes pre-configured with some static pages in the CMS section. Depending on your site, you may need to delete them. Deleting pages in the CMS section of Magento 1.6 is easily accomplished through the Magento Admin Panel.

  1. Log into your Magento Admin Backend
  2. Go to CMS ->> Pages
  3. magento_404_1

  4. Click on the page you wish to delete (for this tutorial we created a fake page called "test page")
  5. magento_delete_page_1

  6. Click "Delete Page" in the upper right corner
  7. magento_delete_page_2

  8. Click "OK"
