Next up in ourAdvanced Parameters course is our article for using media servers for performance enhancement in PrestaShop 1.5. This option is ONLY to be used in conjunction with Combine, Compress, and Cache settings. This section allows you to use set up separate servers to help with your load time and speed up the site in general.

Using additional media servers for performance in PrestaShop 1.5

  1. Log into your PrestaShop 1.5 dashboard.
  2. Using the top menu bar, hover over the Advanced Parameters tab and click on the Performance option from the menu.
  3. This brings you to the Performance page. The third section for Performance is entitled Media Servers.

    Note that this section is to be used ony on conjunction with the Combine, Compress, and Cache settings. Additionally, the media servers are to contain data only for static, cookieless, content. Do not attempt to use it with dynamic content.

    Prestashop allows you to use up to three separate media servers. Be sure to have the content uploaded to the servers prior to setting them up for use. The media servers are for use with static, cookieless content. This means typically standard HTML pages, images, etc.

  4. Enter the URLs for up to three media servers. These may include subdomains or standard domain names.

  5. Click on the green Save button in the upper right corner to save your settings
