Moving webites within InMotion

my main domain is "murdav.com", and I have had a WP website there, and also a WP website under "twotalonsup". I want to now use the domain "wildplaceswildbirds"for my one and only WP website, and eventually cancel the other domains. I am already redesigning the "twotalonsup" site to be the new WildPLacesWildBIrds site. I am not sure how to do this, safely. I am not very concerned with losing SEO tracking, I just want to not have to start from scratch.

Hello Brian,

It's probably better if you just set everything back if you're trying to get back to those old sites. You can then use something called a Staging site to build your new WordPress website.  If you're hosting with InMotion, then you should have access to Softaculous in cPanel.  One of the lesser known features of Softaculous is its ability to use a Staging site - basically this is a way to copy a site to another location based on another site.  You can then work on the site and set it to a different domain name when you're ready to publish.  To learn how to do it, go to How to Create a Staging Site in Softaculous.  You can then simply copy the twotalonsup site and make it your staging site for WildPlacesWildBirds.  I hope this makes sense.  The staging feature should help you get everything going the way you want it.

If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Kindest Regards,

Arnel C.

This did not go well.   I changed the addresses in TWO TALONS UP to WILDPLACESWILDBIRDS.COM, and now all that works is MURDAV..com address. So, whether i type in twotalonsup.com OR wildplaceswildbirds.com, I get sent to murdav.com. And, now I can not log in to twotalonsup WP anymore. I get sent to TwoTalonsUp.com. Please help.

Hello, and thanks for asking. You can change this by changing the WordPress and Site URLs
