I have a site hosted here. I made a subdomain to create a new design. I do NOT want to play around with the old site, I want to start from scratch, but most of the tutorials are about transferring existing files and databases. How do I start from scratch?

Thank you for replying. Unfortunately, I'm such a beginner, most of what you said is way ahead. I'm not using anything, wordpress or otherwise. I'm literally just starting out. Someone else built my site and now I'm in charge. So...my next step is to forget the subdomain thing, and click Wordpress? Feel free to point me in another direction for help.
Tuturials and questions answered here are about transferring existing files and databases. Or bringing in a website built somewhere else. I want to create from scratch a new design and replace the existing one entirely. I have the subdomain made, what's next?
