Internship to Full-Time Employment

Even though InMotion Hosting has been around since 2001, as a small company 10 years later we are still experiencing some first. One of those first, would be the launch of our Web Design Internship Program in our Marina del Rey office.

In early March of this year we felt it was time to expand our horizons and test the waters with our first web design intern. After looking through many portfolios and speaking with several candidates we had found our first match with The Art Institute Student, Damian Scogilo. From day one of his internship Damian was able to come on board at full speed and being making contributions to the team. His internship provided him with the platform to integrate himself into the department and become a key player. This led to InMotion Hosting making Damian an offer to join our Web Design Team as a full-time associate at the end of his internship.

Let's see what Damian had to say about his experiences here at InMotion Hosting.

How did you first hear about InMotion Hosting?

I first heard about InMotion at school when we had to sign up for a hosting account. We were told InMotion was the suggested company we should go with for our accounts. Later as school was coming to an end I needed to find an internship and InMotion was one of my first choices of internships to choose from.

During your internship with IMH what types of projects did you work on?

I worked on all sorts of sites for all kinds of different clients. Whether it was a store, a blog, or a personal site, I was able to work on a wide array of projects. From designing to coding I really got a taste of how the design department worked and how diverse the sites are we produce.

After completion of your internship you were offered a full-time position with IMH as a Web Designer II. What was it about IMH that lead you to stay?

I was offered a full-time position after completion of my internship. What lead me to stay at InMotion was the ability to work on a wide variety of projects and be creative for each one, creating a unique site for each client.

What is the most rewarding part about your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is when I launch a site and the client is so impressed with the job I did and how they enjoyed working with me. Hearing clients say that is what this job is all about.
