What happened to the File Manager?
One of the most useful tools for managing my domain is the File Manager. When I logged on this evening it was gone. What is the reason? What is the plan? What can I do to manage my files?

Hello Mark,
To answer your questions, this is due to an unplanned maintenance event currently affecting the cPanel File Manager on our Shared Hosting servers.
What is the reason? In cooperation with cPanel, a security issue with the File Manager was identified. To prevent any further issues, access has been temporarily disabled while they work on a fix.
What is the plan? We are currently waiting on a patch from our partners at cPanel. Once that patch is received and applied, full File Manager functionality will be restored. Any updates will be posted on https://status.inmotionhosting.com.
What can I do to manage my files? Fortunately, this issue affects only the web-based File Manager in cPanel. You can still manage all of your files using the following methods, which are completely unaffected:
- FTP / SFTP: You can use an FTP client (like FileZilla or Cyberduck) to view, upload, edit, and move your files. If you need help setting this up, here is the official guide: FTP Getting Started Guide
- Command Line (SSH): If you are comfortable using the terminal, command line operations remain fully functional.
