ftp, upload changes to a password protected page
When I try to upload a change to my password protected address book page, nothing changes. I empty the cache as usual before looking for changes in my browsers. I upload into the public folder. All my other pages are uploading fine, but this one isn't. It is a password protected page, so I thought that must be part of the reason.
Any suggestions? Help is much appreciated.

The password protection feature will not have any effect on when the new changes display. Do try to clear the cache as you already suggested. Also, you may want to try with a different browser and even a different device on another network to see the changes. If you can see them in one of those ways, then it is simply a caching of some sort that will resolve itself.
