transfer of website from FrontPage to WordPress

We need to access some old pages that were posted using Frontpage. They were removed from the website when they were out of date and we no longer have access to them on our computer. We did not delete them from the 'remote server' (ie your server) and wonder if they are still accessible? If so, how can we access them, bearing in mind we no longer have Frontpage ourselves? Secondly, is it possible to change the whole website to Wordpress, now that I am beginning to get the hang of that software, without changing the appearance of the site? Many thanks for any help.

Hello Magwitch, FrontPage does not create files in a proprietary format when published so you will be able to open the file for editing with another text editor once you download the files from your server. However, they will be only text and you will see all the extraneous code that FrontPage inserts to format your page. To get the pages, you should simply be able to either use the File Manager or FTP to get the files from the server. As for making the page appear the same with WordPress as it does with FrontPage, that is not likely. WordPress has its own templates that you can choose from. For the most part, you can create the same pages as you have in FrontPage but you will need to create them from scratch in WordPress. Content does not typically migrate from one content management system (CMS) to another. Kindest Regards, Scott M
