www.lvcs.org intermittent problems

A lot of parents and myself have had intermittent problems accessing our schools' websites at www.lvcs.org and www.lvcp.org. I see from "dig" that they share the same IP address and that you host them. The school administrators say "clear your cache" but I have never heard that to be a problem with other web sites. What is going on?
Hello Aheckman, Sorry to hear about intermittent problems with accessing the school website. In my look at both websites I am unable to duplicate any problems with either website. I can view both websites without any problem. We would need more information in order to track down the error to which you are referring. I investigated the server internally, but there is not much in terms of errors on the web server log for lvcs.org. However, lvcp.org had a long list of errors that may be security related (dating from July 30). The errors indicate that security popped up to block access. This may possibly be related to the issue, but a review of the server should be conducted to determine if there is an outstanding issue. There have been mod security improvements to protect against certain types of hacker attacks which may have led to these messages in the Apache error log. However, since you are not the account contact, there should be a request to have the issue reviewed as my initial look shows no overt problem. This does not mean that there is not a problem. For intermittent issues, you can have the account owner run a ping/traceroute diagnostic to help troubleshoot the issue. It will need to be the account owner who runs it since access to the server is required. The results of the ping and traceroute would need to be submitted to technical support via email. Since you are not the account owner, you should ask them(the account owner) to submit an email request to technical support. The email should ask for a review of the server in light of the intermittent contacts. They can also provide the diagnostic results with the request. Provide any error messages and steps in duplicating the problem that you're having so that the VPS owner can report it in their email to support.
