Creating a subdomain on an add-on domain

Hello,

I have the Launch shared hosting plan. During the sign up process, I also registered a domain name with InMotion. Now that everything for website1 has been setup, I want to focus on getting website2 running.

I already registered a domain name for website2 with another different registrar, so I created an add-on domain in my InMotion cPanel following these instructions:

I also want to create a subdomain on the add-on domain, but I'm confused.

Do I create a subdomain in my InMotion cPanel or do I create a subdomain using my registrar's control panel?

Hello standardtoaster, Thank you for contacting us, this is a good question. You can create the subdomain in cPanel, however; since it is not registered with us, it will not function unless it is created with your registrar. After your registrar creates the subdomain, they must point the 'A record' to your shared IP address. Then allow up to 24 hours for the 'A record' to propagate. If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below. Thank you, -John-Paul
